As a
Driver at Univar Solutions, you will be essential to our success, representing the best of our company and helping to build long lasting relationships with our customers and communities. We are currently adding to our fleet of local delivery drivers, as we strive to redefine chemical and ingredient distribution. We offer an opportunity to be part of one of the largest private fleets in North America, with various opportunities to carry bulk and packaged material, with well-maintained and up to date assets.
Primary Purpose:
Operates and maintains company tractor/trailer/tanker to make pickups and deliveries. Transports hazardous materials and wastes in full compliance with applicable federal, state, local statutes and regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities:Pick-up and delivery of hazardous materials and wastesEnsure safety and compliance of loadUse onboard Samsara e-Logging Device manage proper driver duty statuses and planned freight order delivery routing sequencing.Use ePOD device to accurately capture customer delivery receipt of goods and other relevant shipment documentsPerform all other duties as required to make proper deliveries and pick-ups for customersEducation/Experience/Training/Certifications:
Ability to read, write, count, understand and speak EnglishValid Class A CDL license (with HazMat and Tanker endorsements)Ability to use and maintain respiratory protections equipment22 years old or older2+ years of CDL-A driving experienceEducation/Experience/Training/Certifications:
Experience on SAMSARA or equivalent ELDExperience working in a regional capacity with a targeted 55-hour work weekHauling BULK HAZMAT products and perishable consumer goods (e.g., transporting unstable loads or hauling different weights on different trip segments, etc.)Operating a tractor-trailer in different conditions (e.g., highway driving, side/local roads, city/country, maneuvering in tight spaces, etc.)Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions/Other Requirements:
Physical ability to lift and carry at least 100 pounds, tilt back or break 800 lb. net drums onto a dolly and stand/walk for long periods of timeTest negative on the company's drug testsSatisfy all DOT physical qualifications requirements to qualify & maintain a CDL-AMay be handling potentially hazardous substances
