Position Summary:
This position is responsible for implementing and supporting technologies related to computer endpoints and the delivery of operating systems and applications in physical and virtual environments. The Endpoint Engineer is an integral part of the Endpoint Engineering team and is a highly technical role responsible for creating operating system (OS) images and environments, building and deploying applications and patches to Windows physical and virtual desktops, reporting on delivery results, and working with application owners to update and upgrade/maintain the end user environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Designs, maintains, and troubleshoots operating system images and task sequences in Microsoft Configuration Manager (MCM) and Intune Autopilot for a variety of physical and virtual platformsInstalls, configures, manages, and supports endpoints through MCM and IntunePackages and executes application deployments using MCM, Microsoft's standard installer technology (MSI) and transforms (.MST) using industry standard tools such as Flexera AdminStudio, PSAppDeployToolkit, Advanced Installer, PACE Suite and OrcaManages and troubleshoots on-premises group policy and cloud-based policy (Intune) throughout the enterprise with a focus on application delivery and endpoint managementPerforms advanced troubleshooting on endpoint related issues using industry standard tools such as ProcMon, Process Explorer, Fiddler and WiresharkManages and maintains user profile management products such as FSLogix, CITRIX Profile Management (CPM) and UE-VWrites and maintains scripts using industry standard scripting languages including PowerShell and VBScriptConfigures, deploys, and monitors OS and application updates through Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), MECM, Intune and other delivery mechanismsRecommends and implements improvements to endpoint architecture and designCreates and delivers presentations to various audiences as assigned by the managerAppears on camera for meetings with colleagues and vendorsOther duties as deemed appropriate by the managerSkills & Competencies:
Windows 10/11 Enterprise operating system features, settings and installationMicrosoft Configuration Manager (MCM), Intune, Autopilot and their use for managing features, settings, and configurations of Windows, Office, and third-party applicationsActive Directory, Group Policy, EntraID, Intune CSP's and their use for managing user and computer objectsEndpoint virtualization technologies including CITRIX or VMWareMicrosoft Office 365 and Intune configuration and administrationTroubleshooting hardware and application configurations as it relates to workstation performance and end user experienceAbility to write scripts in PowerShell and/or VBScriptBitLocker fixed and portable disk encryptionBIOS functions and configurationWired and wireless networking technologies, topologies, and basic networking concepts such as DHCP, DNS, IP Addressing, Subnets, and VLANSQualifications & Prior Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferredAt least 5-7 years of experience in creating and maintaining operating system images using Microsoft Configuration Manager and/or third-party toolsAt least three years of experience using MCM and WSUS for OS patching and application packaging, updates, and maintenanceMicrosoft Certifications and CITRIX experience a plusExperience using Visual Studio for light utility development a plusLaw/professional services firm experience highly desired
