Ida Culver House Broadview, a premier Era Living retirement community in North Seattle, is seeking an Associate Executive Director to join our leadership team. This key role oversees the operations of life enrichment, maintenance, housekeeping, business office, and reception teams, with five direct reports and 50+ staff. You’ll have overall responsibility for the twenty-four hour supervision and direction of the departments designated by the Executive Director of the Community. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the Executive Director on overall management of the community. Available shifts will be scheduled Monday - Friday with rotating on-call weekends and occasional weekend work.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:Oversee life enrichment, maintenance, housekeeping, business office, and reception departments.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with city, state, and federal regulations.

Staff Management:Lead recruitment, retention, and supervision of staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment.

Community Engagement: Serve as a representative to the broader community and participate in sales and marketing initiatives as needed.

Administrative Support:Provide backup support to the Executive Director, contributing to organizational planning and decision-making.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all residents, employees, family members, senior management, and visitors

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple projects

Ability to plan, direct, supervise, coordinate and evaluate the work of others

Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and computer skills (Microsoft Office proficiency required)

Ability to read, write and communicate in English

Ability to pass DSHS background check, required

Education and Experience:

Experience: 3-5 years in management, with proven staff supervision and operational oversight. Experience with older adults and resident service management including maintenance and housekeeping, community relations, reception services, boarding home operations, and recreation

Demonstrated success in meeting financial goals specific to retirement living, assisted living or related fields such as hospitality

High-school diploma or GED equivalent, required; Bachelor's degree (health-related, business, or gerontology field), preferred and/or 3+ years experience in operations management with demonstrated success in meeting financial goals specific to retirement living, assisted living or related fields such as hospitality

Must meet WAC (Washington Administrative Code) requirements for administrator qualifications
