Wausau Window and Wall SystemsPOSITION SUMMARYThe position involves the ability to work closely with manufacturing, estimating, engineering, and the supply chain team to manage available capacity with incoming project-based demand to create an efficient production plan across two manufacturing facilities and various departments. This includes creating (and altering) schedules utilizing the principles of Critical Path Method, distributing projects to the supply chain associates, and the ability to communicate issues related to sourcing, capacity, and availability throughout multiple organizational levels.POSITION DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIESScheduling functions include planning capacity based on sales/customer requirements against production, engineering, and vendor capacity constraints. This involves using the Critical Path Method for planning requirements. Knowledge and utilization of Microsoft Project to create and update schedules. Epicor & JDE function (scheduling templates and data entry for project timelines)Extensive use of Microsoft Excel is needed to update various load charts and reports.Involvement in continuous improvement projects throughout the year. Managing & analyze all available capacity between production sites.Reporting on all KPI's to include schedule adherence & production performance.Analyze long-term demand to make recommendation which address any production capacity surplus underutilization or constraint deficits.Support all levels of the organization as it relates to their involvement in the procurement of goods through the supply chain. These groups include, but are not limited to, estimating, engineering, accounting, buyers, sales, and operations. Determines material requirements for fabrication orders.Reviews and corrects work order parts list to ensure inventory accuracy.Maintains and controls material flow through the door and frame lines.Be a motivated self-starter with loads of discipline to help you stay focused and productive while working on your own, without a supervisor managing your day-to-day activities & responsibilities.EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSAssociate degree in business or similar discipline OR the equivalent years of education & experience, preferred.2 years of Scheduling Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred.Intermediate Level proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel, required.Minimum of 2 years of experience working within a Lean Manufacturing environment, preferred. Writes in a way that is understandable and tailored to the audience.WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTSMost of the time will be in an office environment with occasional visits to the production floor. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSRegularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend and move about the facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
