Physician - Psychiatrist - FT Adult and Pediatric Outpatient
General Psychiatrist Responsibilities:
Consult directly on patients referred by Primary Care for behavioral health needs and coordinate care with counseling and medication management.Document and assess a patient's history, perform tests as indicated, review diagnosis, and devise a plan for comprehensive mental health treatment including patient education and necessary follow-ups.Collaborate with the primary care team, other medical and non-medical personnel, and substance abuse and behavioral health teams.Ensure coordination and appropriate referrals for patient care and access across services.Supervise Clinic APP(s) and Social Workers in clinic services as determined.Participate in case conferences, peer reviews, department meetings, and other MVH system-wide initiatives in collaboration with the Medical Director.
Qualifications
General Psychiatry Requirements:
A Medical Degree and successful completion of a residency in psychiatry.Board certified/eligible and state license.Current experience practicing Psychiatry within 2 years; preferably in a community setting.The ability to keep updated on the latest medical technologies.Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Good teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills.
