About the Role:We are seeking a visionary leader to join our team as Sr. Artificial Intelligence (Sr. Director of Applied AI) to drive AI initiatives and transform the future of our organization. We are dedicated to harnessing the power of AI to transform our products, services, and customer experiences.What you'll do:Lead and inspire: Build and lead a high-performing team of AI architects and data scientists. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Develop and execute AI strategy: Partner with AI leaders from tech and digital organizations to define and implement a comprehensive AI strategy aligned with WEX's strategic goals.
Build AI Solutions: Lead a team of data scientists working with machine learning engineers to build AI solutions leveraging traditional and modern AI models.
Hands-On Oversight: Actively contribute to the design, development, evaluation, and implementation of AI solutions.
Drive AI innovation: Lead the development and deployment of cutting-edge AI models and algorithms to solve real-world business problems.
Build partnerships: Collaborate with senior stakeholders across WEX to identify and address AI opportunities.
Champion AI adoption: Foster a culture of AI adoption across WEX and empower teams to leverage AI tools.
Measure and communicate impact: Establish clear metrics to measure the impact of AI initiatives.
How you'll lead:Visionary Leadership: Inspire and motivate the AI team with a compelling vision for the future of AI at WEX.
Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of AI principles, techniques, and tools.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to identify and prioritize high-impact AI opportunities.
Collaboration: Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Communication: Effectively communicate AI concepts and results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience you'll bring:Advanced degree (PhD or MS) in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field.
15+ years of experience with 10+ years in AI research, development, or deployment.
10+ years of experience leading and managing AI teams.
Proven track record of delivering impactful AI solutions.
Experience with various AI techniques, including machine learning and natural language processing.
Strong programming skills in Python, R, or other relevant languages.
Experience with AI tools such as Dataiku and Sagemaker.
What would make you stand out:Experience in the fintech or payments industry.
Experience with cloud-based AI platforms.
Publications in top-tier AI conferences or journals.
Experience with AI ethics and responsible AI practices.
