seeks a Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.Duties:

The successful candidate will practice pediatric critical care in our pediatric CICU. In addition to providing excellent patient care, he or she will also be actively involved in the teaching of medical students, residents, and neonatal ICU fellows.Qualifications:

Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Candidates must have completed an accredited pediatrics residency, and accredited critical care and/or cardiology fellowship programs. The successful candidate must be board certified / eligible in pediatric critical care and/or cardiology. Preference will be given to candidates who are dually trained in Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Critical Care or have one year of additional training in pediatric cardiac critical care medicine. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.This is a unique opportunity in pediatric critical care and pediatric cardiology to join a renowned team of aligned providers in cardiology, surgery, perfusion, critical care, anesthesia and others making an extraordinary difference in the lives of patients not only locally, but across our entire state. Our mission is to provide the best possible care for our patients.Our new 150 bed Children's Hospital has a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology, and GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff. The hospital includes 34 pediatric beds, 54 NICU beds, 26 PICU beds, Heart Center, and a dedicated Cancer Center. WVU Medicine Children's is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently. There is also a Birthing Center including a 30-bed obstetrical unit and maternal-fetal medicine clinic.The West Virginia University Health System has undergone significant expansion in specialty and sub-specialty care in areas such as cancer, heart and vascular, and neuroscience, among many others. The Health System operates West Virginia's first and only multi-organ transplant center, and opened a new, 150-bed Children's Hospital in September 2022.Today, the WVU Health System has more than 2,400 licensed beds, 3,900 providers, and nearly 30,000 employees.
