is seeking a
Pediatric Cardiologist
qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice primarily in Morgantown, WV.The successful candidate will join our growing Division of Pediatric Cardiology and will support our patient population on the Children's Hospital campus and throughout the state through our robust pediatric cardiology outreach program that includes outreach clinics with diagnostic testing. We currently have specialists in the areas of fetal cardiology, general pediatric cardiology, advanced imaging, interventional catheterization, noninvasive and invasive electrophysiology, adult congenital heart disease, and preventative cardiology.Duties:
The successful candidate will practice in all areas of Pediatric Cardiology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the candidate will be actively involved in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.Qualifications:
Applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain a state medical license. Successful candidates must have completed a Pediatrics residency program, as well as a Pediatric Cardiology fellowship program. Successful candidates must be board certified/eligible in Pediatric Cardiology. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor Rank, a demonstrated track record of leadership, excellent communication skills, and publications in high-impact journals are required. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.WVU Medicine Children's Hospital is a tertiary care center for the state of West Virginia, Western Maryland, Southwestern Pennsylvania, as well as Southeastern Ohio. We have West Virginia's only cardiothoracic surgery program and offer surgical interventions for the full range of congenital heart defects, including complex single ventricle neonates through adults with congenital heart disease. We have a robust ECMO program with dedicated pediatric perfusionists to support cardiac and non-cardiac diseases.Our new 150 bed Children's Hospital includes dedicated cardiac operating rooms, a hybrid cardiac EP and interventional catheterization lab, and dedicated pediatric cardiac anesthesia staff. The hospital includes 34 pediatric beds, the only level 4 NICU in the state, a dedicated Cancer Institute, a Pediatric Emergency Department with Rapid Care, 15 PICU beds, and is the mainstay for WVU Medicine Children's Heart Center of Excellence including 8 CICU beds. WVU Medicine Children's is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently. The Birthing Center houses a 30-bed obstetrical unit and the maternal-fetal medicine clinic. J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in West Virginia with a pediatric cardiac surgery program, the only epilepsy monitoring unit in the state equipped to serve children, and the only hospital in the state to receive Magnet status for nursing excellence.The West Virginia University Health System is West Virginia's largest health system and the state's largest employer. The System has undergone significant expansion in specialty and sub-specialty care in areas such as cancer, heart and vascular, and neuroscience, among many others.
