UI Health is dedicated to the pursuit of health equity.Position SummaryThis position is responsible for the leadership of Peri Operative departmental initiatives that serve to enhance nursing quality regulatory compliance and educational development. This leader assesses, plans, implements and evaluates strategies and initiatives that aim to ensure the highest clinical quality. This position both leads and participates in quality initiatives with a goal of excellence, zero harm initiatives and other metrics which are directly or indirectly impacted in the Peri Operative Services areas.Duties & Responsibilities:Provide administrative leadership along with consultation to all programmatic operations and outcomes with respect to the following:Provide coordination of quality initiatives and regulatory compliance.Participate or lead the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of initiatives that serve to improve patient care, quality and compliance.Lead staff and divisional projects and initiatives related to quality and clinical compliance.Provide direct or indirect leadership of nurses, technicians, professionals.Manage and communicate quality dashboard to reinforce compliance and facilitate interdisciplinary communication.Develop, interpret and direct the implementation of departmental policies and procedures, and apply recognized standards of nursing care and practice.Establish, implement and evaluate quality of care. Plan and develop patient safety innovations and practice improvement.Integrate shared leadership and foster collaboration across multi-disciplinary disciplines to arrive at decisions affecting all Peri Operative sites of care.Prepare budget for assigned area or program and is responsible for adherence to approved budget.Monitor and evaluate operations for compliance with licensure, accreditation and regulatory standards.Determine personnel, material, equipment, and facilities needed to accomplish program goals.Plan, assign and review work of staff to ensure that group objectives are met. Hire, train, develop and manage staff to ensure that a qualified staff exists to meet group objectives.Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.Qualifications:Minimum QualificationsIllinois Registered Nursing license required.Bachelor's and/or Masters of Science Degree in Nursing required.A minimum of five (5) years clinical nursing experience with progressive responsibility is required.Three (3) years management, quality improvement and or education experience in Peri-operative Services required.Strong communication, customer service and decision-making skills are required.
