In addition, we offer tuition waivers for employees and dependents.Description:The Medical Laboratory Technician III performs a variety of duties and responsibilities associated with basic laboratory support functions, such as specimen processing according to policy and procedure, filing, answering telephones, result retrieval, customer service, faxing reports, order entry, logging in specimens, printing reports, specimen distribution, centrifugation of specimens, operating and troubleshooting computer terminals, printers, fax and copiers, and limited preventive maintenance. Troubleshoot and problem-solve order errors, mislabeled specimens, missed tests, add-ons, and other specimen processing errors. Wear PPE equipment at all times. Be professional and courteous when interacting with internal and external customers and clients at all times.The Medical Laboratory Technician III assists the Specimen Processing Manager in the overall management of specimen processing and Send Outs sections of the lab. The Medical Laboratory Technician III supervises specimen processing staff which include:Receive a wide variety of patient specimens arriving at the laboratory for testing.Following established guidelines, decide whether specimen type and quality is suitable.Perform computer procedures for test requesting, canceling, or crediting tests ordered with a high degree of accuracy.Verify billing information.Prioritize and organize work.Use the laboratory computer for all functions related to testing of patient specimens: run patient and lab reports and perform other computer functions i.e. backups, scanning, etc.Perform required procedures to process specimens: centrifuges, aliquots, etc.Distribute samples appropriately to various departments. Investigate pending specimens.Answer phones for inquiries of results. Recall data via LIS and report by phone.Trace results not yet posted.Call STAT/critical results in a timely manner to clinics and units according to established policy and procedure.Oversee shift staffing, prioritization, and operations to ensure timely and high-quality patient care.Provide education, training, and/or competency assessments of subordinate personnel.Conduct quality investigations to ensure timely and accurate handling of all patient specimens.Participate in intradepartmental quality and process improvement initiatives.Take inventory as needed and prepare supply orders for items needed in the processing area.Ensure regulatory compliance guidelines are followed for temperature logs, centrifuge maintenance logs, and any other records assigned.Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.Minimum Qualifications Required:Any one of the following:

A. Associate’s degree from a medical laboratory technician program.B. Bachelor’s degree in biology, microbiology, chemistry, physiology, biochemical engineering, or closely related fields.

Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience as a medical laboratory technician.To Apply:
