Business Development ExecutiveApply OnlineTyler Technologies is looking for a Business Development Executive who is a seasoned hunter and closer with experience selling solutions across state and local public sectors.The ideal candidate will lead sales campaigns within a defined territory, with a focus on the continued expansion of the current, market-leading Tyler software footprint across the state and local market. The candidate will be motivated to uncover net new opportunities, as well as organically grow the existing customer base. Additionally, the candidate will lead and direct a sales cycle to complement a sustainable pipeline.Our deal profile can range from a single, direct customer engagement, to a large cross-sale of an enterprise-wide solution.LocationHerndon, VirginiaTravel0-5%ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute a territory sales plan to meet and exceed the sales targetsFacilitate the entire sales cycle, including, but not limited to cold calling, prospect research, coordinating and conducting meetings and presentation/demonstrations, capture, proposal support, and contract negotiationsRapidly learn Tyler's product offering and be able to effectively communicate with potential customers, while identifying customer requirements and proposing how Tyler's offering will meet their business needRepresent Tyler and its product offering at industry and association meetings, conferences, and other marketing eventsSupport the proposal development activities by ensuring a full understanding of the customer business needs, budget constraints, and competitive positioningUtilize superior oral and written communication skills to develop new business opportunitiesUnderstand the public sector and develop strategies to increase sales and marketability of Tyler's product offeringCollaborate and work cross-functionallyEstablish and develop relationships with industry entities, such as system integrators and other 3rd party technologiesAdhere to predetermined metrics, including accurately forecasting opportunities and meeting quarterly targets on the forecasted timelineConduct quarterly business reviews before senior leadershipQualificationsMinimum of five (5) years of experience in selling software in state public sectorExpertise in managing large complex sales opportunities using a proven sales methodologyDemonstrated experience in developing and maintaining executive-level relationshipsKnowledge and success with state procurement processesObvious passion for selling along with strong people skillsDemonstrable experience with over-achieving sales goalsTechnically adept and experienced with web technologiesBS/BA college degree very strongly preferredPrior sales methodology training preferred (i.e., Challenger Sale)Great Place to Work & Grow Your CareerCome join us as we transform the public sector!
