Medline Industries has an immediate opening for a highly skilled and experienced Architect to lead our Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) initiatives and drive the development of innovative AI-driven solutions across our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics, combined with a strong background in IT architecture and system integration.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable AI solutions leveraging ML techniques that address complex business challenges, enhance operational efficiency, and drive digital transformation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders, to identify opportunities for AI applications and ensure the successful deployment of AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-based solutions and architectures.
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of our ML models, establishing MLOps processes and best practices.
  • Mentor and guide a team of AI, ML, and IT professionals.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic AI roadmap aligned with business goals.
  • Oversee the integration of AI models into existing IT infrastructure and applications.
  • Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of AI solutions.
  • Troubleshoot platform issues and work with the engineering, infrastructure, and operations teams to resolve them.
  • Stay current with emerging AI and ML technologies and industry trends.
  • Advocate for best practices in AI development and deployment.
  • Measure and report on the impact and performance of AI solutions.
  • Drive adoption of AI solutions through advocacy and education to the broader engineering and operations organizations.

Knowledge, skills, abilities:

  • Proven experience in AI, MLOps, and machine learning, with a track record of successful AI projects.
  • Experience designing solutions that leverage GenAI technologies, such as LLMs or Foundation Models for other data modalities.
  • Expertise with GenAI concepts (transformer model architectures, prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, RAG architectures, patterns, and LLMs/technologies such as OpenAI, Llama, CoPilot, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of IT architecture, cloud computing, and system integration.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
  • Proficiency with tools and technologies like:
    • Python Libraries: Scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch, Pandas
    • Azure Services: Azure Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI services, Azure Machine Learning, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory.
    • Platforms: Power Platform, esp. Power Automate
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and project management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A customer-centric mindset and interest in leveraging design thinking to develop a deep understanding of what internal and external customers need and deliver solutions that result in a positive customer experience.
  • Solid understanding of the product development life cycle, specifically the relationships that exist between product, development, infrastructure, and operations.
  • Experience with Scrum/Agile software development methodology and modern software delivery practices.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate are desirable.

Education:

  • Prefer to have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or a related study.
