The IT SAP Architect is a pivotal role, bridging the gap between business requirements and technological solutions that maximize the value of Medline’s investments in SAP. This individual collaborates closely with both business and IT leaders, aligning technology initiatives with business strategies.
The Architect leads in providing analysis and design to implement business solutions, governs the development of high-quality technology solutions for Medline’s SAP landscape, and ensures the delivery of expected outcomes during project execution. This role also involves maintaining project, program, and team alignment with architectural governance, standards, and best practices, with a special focus on SAP-centric design, integration (BTP), transformation (ECC to S/4HANA), and application modernization in the Cloud.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical design, analysis, and realization, ensuring high-quality technology solutions across SAP-centric design, integration (BTP, PO), transformation (ECC to S/4HANA), and application modernization in the Cloud.
- Collaborate with management, business leaders, IT architecture, and other stakeholders to connect the business roadmap with operational decisions, particularly in areas heavily dependent on SAP-integrated solutions.
- Translate business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives and document all architecture design and analysis work.
- Design and direct governance activities associated with ensuring SAP architecture, development, and security compliance.
- Provide architectural and technical leadership and guidance to portfolio teams, ensuring best practices and standards are followed in developing and deploying SAP BTP solutions using SAP Cloud Platform tools and technologies.
- Define the principles, guidelines, standards, and solution patterns to ensure SAP technical decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision.
- Coach, mentor, and collaborate with technical subject matter experts, application team members, and EA peers to implement SAP architectures that enable and drive new business capabilities and operating models.
Knowledge, skills, abilities:
SAP Expertise:
- Deep understanding of the SAP 'Clean Core' concept.
- Expertise in SAP solutions ECC, S/4HANA, and Cloud platforms.
- Proficiency in SAP system integration, encompassing business processes, common extensions, automation, and emerging SAP technologies. This includes experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), application development (utilizing side-by-side extensions and low-code solutions), automation through SAP RPA, integration via CPI/Integration Suite, as well as data and analytics with SAC and AI technologies.
- Experience with customizing and configuring SAP BTP services, including SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI), SAP RAP (Restful ABAP Programming), SAP Build, SAP Fiori and SAP HANA.
- Experience in supporting the transition from SAP PI/PO to SAP CPI/BTP Integration Suite.
Techno-Functional Skills:
- Proficiency in SAP modules and associated business domains (Order-to-Cash, Forecast-to-Deliver, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report).
Stakeholder Management:
- Skilled in influencing, guiding, and facilitating stakeholders and peers in decision-making processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical staff at all levels of the organization.
Team Leadership:
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead cross-functional teams.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information-technology, systems engineering or related experience.
