Job Summary:
The IT Solutions Architect plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between business requirements and technological solutions, optimizing Medline's investments in Supply Chain Planning, Procurement and Logistics systems. This individual collaborates closely with business and IT leaders to align technology initiatives with strategic business goals. Responsibilities include influencing changes in business models and processes through insightful technology perspectives and analytical approaches to decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serves as a consultant across a broad range of technologies to drive targeted business outcomes within the Supply Chain Planning and Procurement systems domain.
- Applies extensive techno-functional experience to provide expert analysis, research and design of technical solutions that realize strategic benefits and enhance key business capabilities: Demand Planning and Forecasting; Supply Planning and Inventory Optimization; Network Optimization; Sales and Operations Planning; Procurement and Supplier Management; Inbound Logistics and Transportation; Traceability, Recall and Regulatory Compliance Management.
- Provides leadership and technical decision making to application teams and initiative stakeholders, ensuring alignment with enterprise and solution architectures, particularly in SCM/SCP, TMS and related Cloud platforms/technologies integrated with ERP, WMS and other core systems.
- Builds effective relationships and collaborates with Business and IT leaders to align the business roadmap with operational decisions.
- Translates business and technical requirements into actionable architectural blueprints to achieve business objectives.
- Defines architectural principles and solution patterns to ensure optimal use of technology within the domain.
- Stays current with industry technology trends to research and strategize the implementation of new or alternative technologies to advance business goals and competitive positioning.
- Assesses organizational and financial impacts of proposed architectural solutions.
- Oversees governance activities to ensure compliance with architecture, development, security and resiliency standards.
- Maintains a clear view of the SCM/SCP and TMS technical landscape to provide actionable insights that mitigate obsolescence risks, increase compliance with standards and rationalize application and technology investments.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
Work Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in IT architecture and solution development, particularly in Fortune 500 (preferably Life Sciences) or Big 5 consulting companies having complex Supply Chain Planning and Procurement business models and complex technology landscapes.
- Verifiable experience with top tier SCM/SCP platforms like SAP IBP, o9, Kinaxis, Blue Yonder Luminate, Oracle SCP and/or Infor SCM.
- Proven experience in large scale application migrations moving from SAP APO and Legacy TMS to modern platforms and migration/modernization of applications on cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure.
- Clear experience with major TMS platforms like Manhattan, Blue Yonder, MercuryGate, SAP, Oracle and/or Descartes.
- Visible experience integrating with major ERP, WMS and Logistics platforms like SAP, Oracle, Manhattan and Blue Yonder.
- Expertise in guiding development teams and crafting technology strategies and roadmaps.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver presentations to senior executives and technical audiences.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Deep expertise in large-scale SCM/SCP platform implementations, integration and optimization, being well versed with leading technology vendors and product offerings in the space.
- Skilled with common integration patterns between platforms within the Supply Chain and Logistics domain.
- Able to design practical solutions that leverage the benefits of the Cloud having a clear understanding of SaaS, PaaS and IaaS deployment models.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and the ability to support agile teams.
- Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise technology architecture components.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Leadership experience in software implementations, upgrades and migrations in healthcare environments having PHI, PII, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
- Experience with global multi-site teams.
- Recognized thought leader with the ability to remain technology-agnostic and focus on achieving business outcomes.
