Nesco Resource is seeking an onsite Data Center Technician (Smart Hands Tech) in Somerset, NJ.

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Smart Hands Technician with a strong background in onsite data center operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with performing escorts, configurations, plug & cable and an understanding of data center infrastructure. This role requires a hands-on individual who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and provide exceptional technical support.

Please note that this is M-F from 10pm - 6am.
It is paying $26.50 an hour plus a 10% differential. This is a right to hire and full benefits after 90 days.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform onsite support activities including configurations, cable management, and physical hardware troubleshooting.
• Monitoring and maintenance of servers, storage devices, and networking equipment.
• Coordinate with remote teams and provide hands-on support for various IT infrastructure projects.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of data center equipment.
• Manage and document hardware inventory, ensuring accuracy and availability.
• Ensure compliance with data center policies, security protocols, and safety standards.
• Respond to and resolve technical incidents and service requests promptly.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support data center operations and project deployments.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to best practices for data center management.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or degree in a related field preferred.
• Proficiency in using various tools and equipment for hardware installation and repair.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment as required.
• Flexibility to work in shifts, including nights and weekends, as needed.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Server+, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with data center management software and monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for data center operations.
