Job Duties:

The primary function of a law practice assistant is to support the attorney they work with to ensure smooth operations

This involves managing the attorney’s calendar and schedule, tracking deadlines, and maintaining client files in both electronic and paper formats

The law practice assistant also prepares and finalizes documents

The law practice assistant’s role is to facilitate seamless operations by proactively seeking tasks and staying engaged with ongoing matters.

Key responsibilities of a legal practice manager include:

  • Drafting and finalizing documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to filing requirements
  • Managing calendars and schedules, tracking deadlines, and coordinating with attorneys to meet deadlines
  • Providing timely support to attorney for upcoming court appearance, meetings and appointments
  • Handling client calls and messages per attorney’s preference
  • Logging deadlines and managing incoming mail
  • Organizing and maintaining client files regularly
  • Closing files upon completion of matters
  • Addressing day-to-day administrative tasks for the attorney
  • Assisting attorney with organizing work product and office space
  • Coordinating assignments to provide assistance as necessary
  • Maintaining open communication with attorney to stay informed about practices and assignments
Hours: 9 a.m.-5 p.m

Monday-Friday, with an hour for lunch from 12-1 p.m.

Pay:$16.00 to $20 per hour, dependent on experience
