Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a growing construction company that is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting financial management across multiple construction projects, ensuring accurate billing, budgeting, and financial reporting. This is a hybrid position, requiring 4 days on-site in Rockville, MD, with one day for remote work each week. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and finance teams to ensure smooth project execution and financial compliance. Prior experience working in construction is preferred. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking, ensuring projects stay on budget and meet financial goals.
  • Prepare and submit accurate, timely billing to clients, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with contract terms.
  • Manage progress billings, change orders, and final invoicing.
  • Review and analyze project costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses. Provide regular financial reports to project managers and senior leadership, highlighting variances and areas of concern.
  • Coordinate and process subcontractor invoices and payments, ensuring that all payments are made in accordance with contract terms and project timelines.
  • Assist in the financial closeout of projects, ensuring all financial documents are completed, and final reconciliations are made. Ensure that final billing is accurate and in line with contract agreements.
  • Assist in the preparation and administration of contracts, including review of terms, change orders, and adherence to project scope and schedules.
  • Generate monthly financial reports and provide analysis on project profitability, cash flow, and financial performance.
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date project financial records. Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and construction industry regulations.
  • Work closely with project managers, estimating teams, finance department, and upper management to support financial decision-making and project success.
