We work with people at home, work, and in the community through residential, employment, crisis response, recovery, behavioral, children’s services, and day services. Our Group Homes in South Bend, IN are currently recruiting for a Residential Director to provide administrative oversight and respond to industry changes with creative solutions. Residential Director will also be responsible for the organizational effectiveness of the group homes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for overall functions of the group homes including consultation regarding client and staff issues and procedures, property management, analyzing and improving systems, corrective actions, and emerging trends.
  • Facilitate effective communication with external resources, internal support staff, direct reports, and supervisor.
  • Provide on-going supervision, staff development, and evaluation of assigned staff.
  • Orchestrate systems and processes that offer a cohesive and organized department.
  • Is knowledgeable of and ensures compliance with ICF/MR and other regulatory requirements and advises staff of requirements.
  • Monitor division budget and controls expenses.
  • Maintain group home census by working with referral sources, offering tours, and providing materials and general information on group homes.
  • Chair Human Rights Committee, Behavior Support meetings and Residential professional staff meetings when necessary
  • Provide guidance and assistance to staff during emergency situations.
  • Interview/recommend staff.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to surveyors and staff during survey of group homes.
  • Other duties as assigned such as providing supports to emerging markets.
  • Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all staff and clients we serve
  • Must report any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation to supervisor or department head
  • Reasonable suspicion of a crime against an ICF/MR resident must be reported to Indiana State Department of Health and Law Enforcement (Elder Justice Act).
  • Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all individuals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor Degree in Education, Social Work or related field or at least ten (10) years experience
  • Eight (8) years experience in ID/DD programs or Residential setting.
  • Six (6) years management experience.
