Junior to Mid-level Associate Attorney

A law firm in St. Louis is seeking a Junior to Mid-level Associate Attorney with a strong background in patent preparation and prosecution, specifically in electrical engineering or computer science. The ideal candidate should have 2+ years of relevant experience, exceptional academic achievements, and excellent communication skills. The role requires a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).Duties:Conduct patent preparation and prosecution activities with a focus on electrical engineering or computer science.Collaborate with clients and inventors to understand and evaluate inventions for patentability.Draft and prosecute patent applications, responses to office actions, and appeals before the USPTO.Provide legal counsel on intellectual property matters, including patent portfolio management and strategy.Requirements:Minimum of 2 years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).Degree in electrical engineering or computer science.Skills:Strong academic achievements.Solid law firm, engineering, and industry experience.Excellent writing and communication skills.Preferred experience in patent prosecution in electrical engineering or software-related technologies.Additional experience in data science/AI, networking technologies (especially network security), and/or machine learning/artificial intelligence (in addition to data science) and hardware security is encouraged.
