Our mission is to inspire and engage through science discovery and learning in ways that advance equity and opportunity.ResponsibilitiesIn collaboration with the Public Engagement Program Director, the Associate Director of Floor Programs and Operations ensures a positive, welcoming and enriching experience for visitors by overseeing daily operations of the science center floor.*Key Responsibilities:Supervise daily operations on the science center floor, including opening and closing procedures, school group orientations, and visitor assistance.Recruit, train, lead and inspire a team of facilitation staff, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.Develop and implement planning strategies to enhance the overall visitor experience.Provide a functional, clean space throughout the exhibit spaces.Monitor visitor flow and address any issues or concerns promptly.Conduct regular walkthroughs of exhibit spaces to ensure cleanliness and functionality.Assist with the implementation of safety and security protocols.Stay informed about exhibits, programs, and events to effectively communicate with visitors.Create manuals and documentation specific to the department.Conduct daily check-ins with floor coordinators and facilitation staff.Optimize floor operations to maximize efficiency.Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.Required QualificationsIntimate working knowledge of science center programs.Strong equitable leadership skills.Ability to lead the team in policy and practice development.Proven track record of effectively leading teams.Exceptional organizational abilities.Excellent communication skills.Excellent program management skills.Demonstrated leadership abilities and extensive management skills.Passion for science education.Comfortable public speaker.Working knowledge of training development strategies.Ability to anticipate guest needs.Strong service orientation.EDUCATIONBachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.Preferred QualificationsSpanish speaking.CPR/First Aid Certification.Salary & BenefitsThis is a 1-year, full-time (40 hours/week) contract appointment, eligible for UC benefits. The budgeted salary is
$72,600.00 - $96,000.00
