At each level, you will require different skills and experience and will have varying responsibilities; please refer to the attached position description for further details.Reporting to the Senior Planning Officer, this role will see you responsible for, but not limited to:Encouraging and facilitating the orderly development of the City of Albany within the guidelines of town planning principles and practice, state and local planning and local government operational frameworks;Providing technical advice, ensuring compliance, and developing policies on town planning and related matters;Striving for excellence in facilitating and promoting private and public sector development and providing advice to customers;Providing Council, ratepayers, and developers with an efficient, effective, and proactive decision-making and advice-giving process.Desired Skills and ExperienceAbout You:

Candidates must have a tertiary qualification in Town Planning and at a minimum, basic knowledge and understanding of:The R-Codes and other state and local planning legislation;Planning for Bushfire regulations and associated planning legislation;Legislation, procedures, policies, and activities related to local government operations.Candidates must also have a strong customer service focus and commitment with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
