Full-time (average of 38 hours per week)The East KimberleyThe East Kimberley is an extraordinarily beautiful and sparsely populated area in the northeast corner of Western Australia, known for its pristine kaleidoscope of colour, outback adventures, world-class fishing, excellent caravan parks, luxury accommodation, great food, and friendly locals.The OpportunityWe are seeking a motivated individual to join our Planning and Regulatory Services team. You will be involved in a diverse range of strategic planning work and undertake responsibilities necessary for the effective operation of the team.This role is also responsible for:Administering the Shire’s Local Planning Scheme and land use control in accordance with Council delegations, planning policies, and administrative procedures;Assessing and reporting on development applications, including significant applications, Development Assessment Panel applications, and application reviews at the State Administrative Tribunal;Assessing proposals for strata title subdivision, requests for preliminary determination, and requests for certification of strata plans;Preparing recommendations and reports to Council and external stakeholders on development, subdivision, and rezoning proposals;Providing detailed and professional advice on matters related to land use planning and development to Shire staff, government agencies, developers, and other organisations;Preparing and maintaining planning information sheets and ensuring planning-related information on the Shire’s website is up-to-date and in accordance with legislative requirements.Minimum Requirements:Degree Qualification/s in Urban and Regional Planning or related field, equivalent industry experience, and current unrestricted WA Drivers Licence are essential. You will also have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role. You must demonstrate a sound understanding of both strategic and statutory planning, including assessment and compliance of planning matters, planning concepts, traffic and parking issues, and bushfire prone areas.Location and Remuneration PackageThe role will be based from the Shire offices in Kununurra.An attractive remuneration package will include base salary, housing or housing allowance, professional development, location allowance, relocation reimbursement up to $15,000, and 11.5% Superannuation.This role is full-time with a remuneration package ranging between

$120,000 and $140,000
