Our faculty and staff are smart, dedicated people who work to create an excellent urban university experience for bright and motivated students.Job Summary:The Associate Director will be responsible for the planning and implementation of innovative first-year recruitment strategies and programs designed to meet first-year (freshman) enrollment goals at Northeastern Illinois University. This position reports to the Director of Admissions.Job Description:Ability to step into any role within admissions where additional help is needed or where a temporary vacancy might occur. This includes direct recruitment of students, training of recruiters, guiding student workers, and backing up the visit/event coordinator.

Oversee the development and implementation of first-year recruitment strategies that are consistent with the overall enrollment strategies of NEIU.

Work closely with the Director of Admissions and marketing office to ensure that undergraduate communications are updated and running.

Ability to handle and keep confidential information as required by FERPA.

Supervise first-year admissions counselors, particularly with respect to planning and organizing off-campus travel and activity.

Supervise student staff.

Oversee the dual and guaranteed admissions services, systems, and programming.

Work with the Executive Director of Admissions and Marketing Office to develop media plans which will include assisting in the development and design of web and printed materials.

Oversee scheduling of college fair seasons and high school visits.

Ability to make presentations as needed.

Call, email, and text students in the enrollment funnel. Meet with families as needed.

Develop and implement new on-campus recruitment activities.

Develop and strengthen assigned territories by researching trends, demographics, and other opportunities to increase enrollment.

Collaborate with other departments, helping them understand the work admissions is doing as well as inviting them to participate in recruitment events when it makes sense.

Perform other duties or additional responsibilities as required by the University.

Minimal Qualifications:Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or comparable work experience.

Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies and programs.

Five years of progressive responsibility in admissions, enrollment, or student services.

Successful history of building relationships with high schools and organizations that influence college decisions for prospective students.

Expertise in the use of data in the decision-making process.

Experience with student demographics in the Chicago area.

Proficient in software such as Google, Adobe, Excel, Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint; as well as project management software such as Asana, Marq, and Basecamp.

Familiarity with Customer Management Relationship (CRM) software and platforms, experience with Slate (Technolutions) preferred.

Excellent verbal & written skills & the ability to communicate effectively to large groups.

Must be willing to travel and be available to work occasional evenings and some weekends.

Experience in developing relationships with diverse students.

A valid driver's license is required.
