The Ambulatory Care Administrative Manager of the Advanced Heart Failure Comprehensive Care Center is a highly visible position within UCSF Health. Reporting to the Director of the Advanced Heart Failure Comprehensive Care Center, this position assists with the development and implementation of new programs, policies, and patient care service standards. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies. Accountable for the overall administrative planning and coordination of the staffing, provider schedules and templates, fiscal, and material resources for the following areas:Advanced Heart Failure Comprehensive Care Center Ambulatory Clinic PracticeAdvanced Heart Failure Comprehensive Care Center staff coordinating care for:Heart Failure Disease ManagementAdvanced Heart Failure Therapies EvaluationPre/Post Heart TransplantPre/Post VAD ImplantThe Ambulatory Care Administrative Manager will be responsible for assisting with the hiring, onboarding and maintaining administrative and clinic staff. Utilizing Lean methodology, the supervisor will be responsible for assessing workflows to optimize productivity and satisfaction. The Ambulatory Care Administrative Manager monitors and improves True North metrics for the AHF CCC and works with staff to improve processes to meet these metrics. Additionally, the Ambulatory Care Administrative Manager will respond to all patient satisfaction concerns and evaluate means for improvement. This includes responsibility for the overall day-to-day clinic operations.The Ambulatory Care Administrative Manager collaborates with the Director of the Advanced Heart Failure Comprehensive Care Center to ensure a positive professional work environment, facilitate timeliness of services, and enhance patient and staff satisfaction. The Ambulatory Care Administrative Manager will also collaborate with other teams within the Heart and Vascular Center and across UCSF Health to introduce new programs and workflows to the Advanced Heart Failure Comprehensive Care Center.Responsible for managing various administrative and patient access functions across the AHF CCC including, but not limited to operations of healthcare clinics, practice management operations, access/scheduling, financial data and analysis, revenue cycle, and elements of human resources. Responsibility and duties from the Ambulatory Administrative Supervisor role will continue within the Ambulatory Care Administrative Manager role, but the staff daily schedule and maintenance will be delegated to Practice Coordinator with seniority and experience.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. We strive to provide rapid, seamless referrals.Advanced Heart Failure Comprehensive Care Center is a premier program in California for treating heart failure, including innovative approaches to population/chronic care management, novel therapies, MCS and heart transplant- offering the best services, outcomes, patient and provider experiences across the continuum of care for patients with heart failure.UCSF Transplant Services provides care to kidney, heart, liver, lung and pancreas patients with end stage organ failure requiring transplantation. Each year we evaluate over 2,000 potential recipients and living donors and perform over 600 transplants. UCSF is one of the busiest transplant programs in the country with excellent post-transplant outcomes. Our multidisciplinary team of experienced clinicians provides cutting edge care to our patients and their families.UCSF's Adult Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) Program provides clinical care and technical expertise in the care of patients with end-stage heart and/or pulmonary failure and patients in refractory cardiopulmonary collapse. The MCS program deploys and supports a variety of mechanical blood pumps and artificial membrane lungs available within the ever-evolving landscape of circulatory support technologies in order to keep these critically ill patients alive- sometimes supporting the patient until they either recover their organ function, or when indicated as a bridge until the patient can receive a transplant.We also conduct a wide range of research at all campuses, discovering more about everything from causes of heart and vascular disease to which drug, device or procedure are most likely to benefit patients.Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.Minimum five (5) years related clinic/center management experience in a lead/supervisory/management capacity, with progressive expertise in practice management, scheduling, customer-service methods, incident reporting, regulatory compliance, accreditation requirements, and information technology.Demonstrated managerial skills and human resources management knowledge, including staff deployment, resource utilization, budgeting and financial management, quality improvement, and program planning and implementation.Knowledge of relevant healthcare and clinic operations information technology, including billing systems and patient care workflows and processes.Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing, and compliance environments.Proven ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and delegate work functions efficiently.Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to convey complex information, instructions, and guidelines in a clear, concise, and specific manner and to influence and persuade all levels of staff.Preferred Qualifications
