The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases & Geographic Medicine, is seeking applicants for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor level and above.

Applicants must have an M.D. degree, or equivalent, from an approved LCME medical school, and have satisfactorily completed an Internal Medicine residency program, and an Infectious Diseases fellowship program, from an ACGME accredited program. Candidates must be eligible for Texas medical licensure and be board-certified in Internal Medicine and board-certified/eligible in Infectious Diseases. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.

The primary roles and responsibilities will include:Developing an independently funded basic science or translational science laboratory in the field of infectious disease research.Producing peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts.Obtaining extramural funding support for research.Attending and presenting at national and international scientific conferences.Developing an international scientific reputation in the field of infectious diseases research.Applying for a DOCS award.Providing patient care on the Infectious Diseases Inpatient Consult Services at Clements University Hospital and Parkland Hospital.Participating in the teaching and training of medical and physician assistant students, residents, and ID fellows.This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.To learn more about the benefits UT Southwestern offers, visit
