Program Director

under the direction of the Director of Shelter and Services for San Mateo County. At the Veterans Motel site, we are dedicated to providing stabilization shelter and comprehensive services for homeless veterans.Responsible for delivery of services in an ethical, professional and effective manner.Full oversight of staff including: hiring, training, supervision and facilitation of staff meetings.Develop appropriate program procedures, policies, and forms and ensure their implementation.Develop and implement annual program plan in collaboration with staff and the Associate VP of Programs & Services.Develop and monitor an annual program budget.Oversee the San Mateo County Motel Voucher Program and Hoptel.Supervise the collection, compilation, and submission of all program statistics, ensuring all reports meet funding and legal requirements.Coordinate program development in job development, follow-up program, donations, food services, volunteers, recreational activities for clients, and other areas as needed.Supervise case management and Residential Service Coordinator staff, providing direct services to clients as needed.Work with the Veteran's Administration and San Mateo County leadership to ensure contract compliance.Build a positive relationship with the hotel management team and address any concerns.Facilitate workshops and support groups as needed.Address client appeals and grievances.Position Qualifications :Bachelors in Psychology, Sociology or other humanities field required; Masters in Social Work or related field preferred.Minimum 3 years of non-profit management experience.Experience developing, managing, evaluating and operating programs serving homeless populations.Strong written and oral communication, personnel management, conflict resolution, and clinical supervision skills are necessary.Strong knowledge of substance abuse and relapse prevention, mental health issues, and domestic violence is required.A strong foundation in diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.Multicultural competency helpful; bilingual Spanish speaking preferred.We have a comprehensive benefits package, which includes Medical, Dental, Vision, Flex Spending Account, Dependent Care Reimbursement Account, Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, 401K, etc.To learn more about our non-profit organization, check out our website at
