This position is open until filled.Responsibilities:Assist in preparation of assigned menu items following department recipes and production sheets for meals.Under oversight of a cook, prepare entrees, side dishes, and accompaniments following HACCP principles.Follow rules and policies for organic certification.Participate in ongoing customer service programs.Complete service records at end of meal period.Follow HACCP Principles for food safety.Distribute prepared food at correct temperatures prior to service.Store leftover food properly and with Chef or Manager.Establish and maintain positive relations with customers.Prevent cross-contamination and be aware of potential allergens.Safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment.Ensure cleanliness, safety, and sanitation of work areas.Provide oversight and mentoring of food service workers and student staff.Complete professional development and other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:Experience in food preparation and general maintenance in a kitchen.Ability to work independently and prepare multiple menu items.Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.Demonstrated knowledge of food safety and sanitation.Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in large volume production.ServSafe or Food Service Handler Certification.Salary & Benefits:The budgeted salary range is $23.19 - $27.17 per hour.
