An independent and not-for-profit system since 1924, Children's Minnesota serves kids throughout the Upper Midwest at two free-standing hospitals, nine primary care clinics, multiple specialty clinics, and seven rehabilitation sites.Position SummaryThe Security Director is responsible for all aspects of the security management and emergency preparedness programs for the organization. This position oversees the development, leadership, and implementation of the overall emergency preparedness and security strategies. The Security Director is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, families, visitors, and Children's employees.Responsibilities include:Strategically planning, managing, and continuously evaluating the security management and emergency preparedness programs.Developing, revising, and instituting comprehensive and effective security strategies and policies.Collaborating with contracted security services, local/state/federal law enforcement, and emergency preparedness officials.Leading communication and partnership efforts with local emergency responders.Chairs or participates on various committees related to organizational readiness.Minimum Requirements:License/Certification/Registration Required:Valid state driver's license, without restriction is required.Education:High school diploma required.Bachelor's Degree required (Criminal Justice, Security Management, Security Administration or related field).Master's Degree preferred in a related field.Experience:Minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience (private security, public safety, security operations, etc.).Minimum of 5 years leading people.Healthcare knowledge and experience preferred.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Strategic vision, planning & execution skills.Strong interpersonal skills.Dynamic team leader.Excellent multi-tasking abilities.Exceptional judgment.Comprehensive understanding of the relationship between the hospital system and law enforcement.Children's Minnesota is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
