POSITION SUMMARY
The Development Director works to develop and implement giving opportunities which support the short-and long-term needs of both the Church and the School. Responsibilities include securing annual fund commitments, supporting planned giving and endowment building efforts, donor stewardship and supporting special campaigns in partnership with the Archdiocese. This position leads stewardship of key donor relationships to support the parish and school mission and to increase community engagement. The goal of the development program is to create a culture of philanthropy and stewardship internally and externally, while increasing financial support for the parish and school.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, implement and/or manage annual offertory program, major gifts, planned giving, endowment, and stewardship programs.
Identify and build relationships with existing, prospective, and new donors.
Act as staff liaison for the Stewardship Ministry Area Council to support and implement annual council goals.
Coordinate the annual diocesan appeal.
Create and maintain systems to support online giving, automatic withdrawal and annual stewardship appeal programs.
Responsible for directly assisting the Endowment Fund Committee to develop strategies, programs and events, that build long-term financial support for the parish through the St. Odilia Parish and School Endowment Funds.
Ensure timely receipt and acknowledgement of contributions and ensure that an accurate accounting of donor records and files is maintained.
Attend Parish, School and community events to establish and build relationships with key members in our community.
Assist special event volunteer teams such as the Fall Festival, Bloom, Marathon and other parish and school partnerships as needed.
Produce communications and promotional materials to create awareness of stewardship, endowment, and giving programs through weekly bulletin articles, quarterly newsletter, E-News, Stewardship Annual Report, website, and other effective means.
Advise, train, and supervise Parish Engagement Coordinator to identify, recruit and engage new parishioners and parish volunteers.
Plan, manage and maintain the Development Budget.
Develop and maintain active and productive relationships with parishioners, school families, alumni and leadership.
Manage Donor Development including future gift program(s), potential Capital Campaign and additional stewardship initiatives.
