The University of Chicago's Department of Molecular Genetics and Cell Biology ( https://mgcb.uchicago.edu/ ) in the Biological Sciences Division seeks faculty in molecular genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, developmental biology, quantitative biology, and related fields, broadly defined. We particularly welcome applicants whose research utilizes model organisms and/or innovative approaches to investigate fundamental questions in molecular biology and cell biology.

Rank and tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications, although we anticipate the tenure-track assistant professor level. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent upon qualifications. The Biological Sciences Division, the Physical Sciences Division, the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering, and the University of Chicago Medical Center are all contained within one compact campus in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood. Appointees will join a highly supportive and collegial community, with access to state-of-the-art core facilities. They will work with outstanding colleagues and graduate students associated with numerous degree-granting programs spanning the biological and physical sciences, and they will have additional opportunities to engage with our affiliates, Argonne National Laboratory and the Marine Biological Laboratory. Competitive research space and start-up funding will be available.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must have a doctoral degree or equivalent.
