Job Description

FIS is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for our innovative Capital Markets team. As an SRE team member, you will participate in all of the day-to-day activities of operating various production environments to help maintain high stability, reduced service downtime, and improve quality of service for FIS clients.

This could involve working with bleeding-edge technology while coding, configuring, implementing, maintaining, and supporting.

Responsibilities:

Participate and lead the day-to-day operations of the team for changes and incidents.

Lead incident triage calls and follow up on root cause analysis.

Configure and deploy product releases into production and verify for quality work.

Participate in data center and infrastructure change activities.

Develop monitoring and alerting for various application production environments.

Help identify repetitive non-value adding tasks and be hands-on in coding and scripting to automate them.

Actively participate and contribute in team meetings and team building activities.

What you will need:

Focus on scalability, high availability, performance, stability, and reliability of software applications.

Good understanding of products & interdependencies, with a blend of pragmatic, operational, and software development skills.

At least 2-3 years of experience building and supporting application infrastructure in a private and Azure public cloud.

2-3 years of change management experience on ITSM tools like Service Now.

Experience initiating and leading or participating in the resolution of incidents.

2-3 years of experience developing and/or implementing effective monitoring on standard tools similar to Splunk, Dynatrace, and Azure cloud native monitoring tools.

Knowledge and skills to comfortably work on Windows, Unix systems, IBM technologies like WebSphere AS and MQ, and SQL Server.

Ability to query, script, and deploy in Microsoft SQL Server.

Self-starter with the ability to run with minimal supervision.

Added Bonus if you have:

Hands-on experience in developing and implementing production monitoring.

Experience and good understanding of networking.

Hands-on Unix shell scripting, Perl/Python, PowerShell, MS SQL programming experience.

General knowledge of financial applications.

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $103,010.00 - $173,060.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
