Short DescriptionDemonstrates institutional knowledge of clinical/financial systemsHas the ability to troubleshoot system issuesAbility to develop user manuals, policies/procedures, and reference materials that are clinically relevantDesign, develop, implement and assess informatics skill-based learning for clinicians and staffWorks with administrative departments and IT security to enable applications for user provisioningDesign, develop and update clinical training curriculum including but not limited to classroom, individual, and computer-based modulesSupport design, coordination, and delivery of new hire training programsSet up and populate electronic training environmentParticipates in the system testing for new functionality and system upgradesDemonstrates knowledge of adult education principlesConducts needs assessments, program evaluations, and end user proficiency testsPrepares class rostersMaintains associated record-keeping documentsProactively maintains and develops continuously updated training materials for various training sessions (Orientation, Advanced, Refresher classes, Helpful Hints, Frequently Asked Questions)Ability to conduct classroom-style training for usersAbility to conduct one-on-one training sessions with users as neededConduct observations of users in their environment to identify areas for improvement and suggestions for workflow redesignMaintain knowledge of Cooper’s standard configurations and clinic-specific templates and customizationProvide onsite training and issue resolution support at all locationsServe as a resource to helpdesk staff in ticket resolutionProvide user interface support for new EHR implementationsAssist with coordinating requests by end users for system modifications and enhancementsMaintain an issue knowledgebase to document specific training issues related to the applicationAbility to work with minimal supervision and maximum accountabilityExceptional communications abilities both orally and in writing with all levels of clinical, administrative, and support staffConceptual and practical understanding of various training techniques for users with various learning stylesAbility to customize and configure clinical systems to support clinic workflow and clinical best practicesAbility to evaluate and analyze clinical systems features and functionality for problem resolutionExcellent written, analytical, and verbal communication skillsAbility to maintain a flexible schedule that will include some evening and weekend hoursAbility to document workflow design and identify areas for improvementKnowledge of industry best practices related to patient flowDemonstrate strong skills with industry-standard tools related to trainingPerform other duties within the scope of this position as assignedDemonstrates requirements gathering skillsServe as a liaison between end users, subject matter experts, and technical supportDevelop and maintain all policy and procedure related documentationParticipates as IT representative on committees and task forces as neededPerform on-call duties as assignedPerform other duties as assignedDemonstrates sound and logical problem-solving abilitiesSelf-motivated to identify and resolve issues, and in advancing personal knowledgeDemonstrates strong organizational core values

Experience Required

2-4 years

3 years’ experience in training, Information Technology, Healthcare Operations, or 1 to 2 years as super user or trainer for EMR/EHR deployments.

Education Requirements

HS required

Bachelors preferred

License/Certification Requirements

EPIC TRAINING Certification desired. If an instructional designer does not yet have an Epic certification or proficiency for the module they teach, they will obtain it within a year of taking on responsibility for that module. They will maintain this certification unless it is determined by management that certification in this module is no longer required.

Special Requirements

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Instructor-led classroom training &/or experience in other training delivery modes.#J-18808-Ljbffr
