EHR Apps Analyst

Position Information:

Designs and supports workflow related to research. They work with application research liaisons to learn about organizational workflow around research and user needs for research. Assists in the support of the Electronic Health Record and associated applications and makes recommendations for improvements. Assists the organization in optimizing their workflow processes through building applications that are tailored to meet the needs of the research program. Learns the EHR system's capabilities and functional use and applies their knowledge to assist in the implementation of a system that meets process needs.

Essential Duties:

Owns the overall coordination activities related to integration of healthcare functionality.

Manages the integrated research issues list.

Acts as a counterpart to the vendor implementation resources.

Participates in all phases of the system development life cycle including development of use cases and evaluation of software solutions.

Supports moderately complex information systems.

Creates documentation of business requirements, current and future state workflow.

Tests application changes and builds support documentation. Makes recommendations to application administrators for configuration and code updates.

Coordinates all testing phases of associated applications during implements and upgrades.

Supports existing functionality with future expansion to additional areas.

Develops strong relationships with end user communities, customers, and business partners.

Utilizes best practices for use within the organization.

Provides hands-on training as needed for end users.

Serves as a key onsite EHR resource for facility implementation and support of a broad set of healthcare applications.

Leads and facilitates the facility's core clinical and business systems team on application activities and coordinates with

IT for integrated system and/or application needs. Provides second level support as a broad EHR subject matter expert to resolve incidents or fulfill requests.

Serves as project leader for implementations of EHR applications software releases and new products. Participates in special projects

Provides on-call assistance as needed.

Works with the team to lead, monitor, and facilitate new module/application testing.

Provides input to policies and procedures, training, and best practices for use within the organization.

Works with the team and facility core team members to deliver hands-on training as needed.

Participates in meetings as a member of organizational leadership as required. Builds strong relationships with core customer base (nurses, physicians, revenue cycle, health information management, core team members, etc.) and facility leadership.
