Position summary:

JMT is seeking a Senior Interior Designer in the Washington, DC area for an exciting opportunity to work with the federal government. The position provides interior design assistance for design and construction projects using knowledge of design principles and practices to interpret, organize, coordinate, communicate and execute.

The annual salary range for this position is $120,000.00 - $150,000.00.

Essential skills and responsibilities:

Experience performing as a consultant in the establishment of space and furniture design standards and criteria for construction projects.

Experience providing on-site field survey measurements and verification.

Experience preparing space and stacking plans.

Experience in construction document development, finish selection and space planning/programming.

Experience with computer-assisted design software such as Revit and Sketch Up.

Required Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

Strong work ethic. Willing to do what it takes to get the job done.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Required Experience:

US Government Secret security clearance.

Bachelor's degree in Interior Design.

10 years' experience as Interior Designer in commercial/government office building design and construction.

Preferred Experience:

US Government Top Secret security clearance.

Interior Design license.

Experience working with governmental agencies at the federal, city, county, and state levels.

20 years' experience as Interior Designer in commercial/government office building design and construction.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
