Moog is looking for a

Mechanical Analysis Engineer

to join our Engineering team. You will evaluate, justify, and report on the integrity of mechanical actuation products. You will initiate and carry out indepth analysis to ensure the integrity and conformance of the design, including stress analysis, gear analysis and design, fracture mechanics, thermal analysis, dynamic analysis, and multibody dynamic / kinematic studies. Reporting to an Engineering manager, you will have a 9/80 work schedule with a hybrid work option (3 days/week in the office) in Torrance, CA.

As a Mechanical Analysis Engineer, you will:Lead structural analysis effort on programs through technical leadership, analysis execution, communication with customers, and coordination of analytical tasks.Support programs throughout the product lifecycle including:Conceptual design and sizing of new components and assemblies.Detailed analysis in coordination with design and manufacturing teams to optimize designs for production while balancing technical requirements.Lead investigations determining root cause for anomalies encountered during qualification testing.Troubleshoot issues and non-conformances (both piece part and assembly level) encountered during production.Lead process improvement efforts to develop new analytical methods and improve productivity through automation and standardization.Create and review program deliverable documentation (i.e. stress reports), Moog internal memorandums, and production drawings.Provide mentoring for junior engineers.

To be considered for this role, here are the Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics or MathematicsMinimum 3+ years of experience designing and analyzing components (internship/coop experience will be considered toward the experience requirement)1+ years of experience applying FEA and numerical analysis

This position requires access to United States export-controlled information.

It'd be great if you also had:5+ years of experience with product analysis and evaluation included finite element methods, vibration analysis, and fatigue evaluationCapability to develop original design methods and analysis tools to enable nonconventional designsExperience with ANSYS, Python (and PyAnsys), and MATLABExperience in automating workflow and developing customization functions using the programs above (or similar)Advanced Degree in EngineeringAerospace industry experienceStrong mathematics and critical thinking skills

Salary range:

$85,000 - $105,000 per year.
