The Department of Physics is the largest department in the L&S Division of Mathematical and Physical Sciences. It is ranked as one of the top physics departments in the world, with excellence in research, teaching, and service to the community all highly valued.The Department of Physics Administration is led by the Director of Administration, supported by six functional Managers. The Financial Analyst 3 (FA3) reports to the Director of Finance and Operations. The FA3 is responsible for supporting a wide range of financial services such as budget, financial, or resource analysis projects.Application Review Date

Budgetary - Assist in overseeing and coordinating the annual internal Department of Physics budget process.20%

Provides analytical support for complex budget, financial, or resource analysis projects.15%

Performs complex financial or resource research and studies for various internal department constituents.15%

Coordinates and implements department budget allocations.10%

Prepares, reviews, and/or approves financial transactions.10%

Responsible for SAS-115 reporting requirements.5%

Customer/Functional Support - Contribute to one or more areas of financial activities.5%

Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.Advanced knowledge of financial or accounting concepts, policies, procedures, as well as related accounting and regulatory compliance requirements.Ability to independently gather required information to organize and perform financial analysis assignments.Proven ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.Proven ability using spreadsheet and database software for complex financial analysis.Proven interpersonal skills with peers throughout the organization.Ability to adapt to changing priorities.Ability to function as a member of a team.Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices.Salary & Benefits

The budgeted salary range for this position is $90,000 to $97,500 yearly. This is a 100% FTE career position eligible for full benefits.Conviction History Background
