Our brands portfolio includes L'Oreal Professionnel, Pulp Riot, Redken, Matrix, Biolage, Mizani and Pureology.Basic functionThe PPD Director of Business Development is a Field based position that will be responsible for the management and development of the Brand Development Managers, market analysis, proactively identifying necessary support for SalonCentric teams. The Directors will work closely with SalonCentric RDs and DM's to be an advocate for the needs of our brands, support promotional priorities, and create growth plans where opportunities are identified. They are the ultimate champion for "why" PPD, driving strategic support for new and ISMS while championing the resources PPD has to offer. This role will be responsible for developing long-term measurable goals designed to gain market share, drive overall sales while collaborating with Brand Activation, Brand Operations, Stores, L&D, Field Training, Business Planning and Education partners.Role supports 4-8 Business Development ManagersReports to the VP of Brand Development, StreetPPD Brands include REDKEN, Matrix, L'Oreal Professionnel, Matrix, Biolage, Pureology, Mizani and Pulp Riot.Responsibilities:Support SC in New Partnerships and gaining ISMS and distribution.Identify new partnership targets for BDM/SC SAMS.Utilize Brand, PPD and Summit tools (Salon Emotion, Access, Level, Hair.com etc.) to champion Why PPD and what sets us apart.Partner with Brand Activation to ensure tools and resources are being deployed and activated in market.Work with brand education teams to develop regional education strategies to support BDMs/SC Partners.Work with VP of Brand Development and team to identify portfolio growth opportunities.Proactively monitor and collaborate with SalonCentric RD/DMs top accounts, protecting the business but also ensuring the PPD difference is clear within this top account group.Drive support with SC Store and PPD Suite/ School teams to optimize SAO sales results.Support the development and execution for all Summit Business events for existing and new customers.Support SalonCentric sales meetings and omni-comm.Support and promote all educational offerings available to salons: Events, Programs, Store Classes, In-Salon Classes, etc.Provide weekly business status updates to VP Brand Development.Salesforce management.Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly status commentary for territory.Manage fuel budget.Competencies:High sense of urgency, accountability, risk-taking and organization.Ability to assess strategic customer needs and build alliances, excellent selling, organization, negotiation, and planning skills.Positive leader with energy, enthusiasm for the salon and beauty industry.Motivated, results oriented, creative thinker.Ability to be flexible, act as change agent and be a team player (collaborative).Strong ability to manage complexity: manages multiple projects and tasks simultaneously with a focus on prioritization and quality. Demonstrates discipline, self-motivation, and initiative.High level of confidence and strong presentation skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Calculated risk taker.Proven ability to lead by example.Serve as a voice for our salon owners and stylist community.Experience:An undergraduate degree or commensurate professional experience is required.5-10 yrs. proven sales experience with emphasis on consultative selling.Summit Business program expertise.Effective development of Business Proposals.Experience with a distributor-based organization and structure.Demonstrated track record of exceptional problem-solving skills in a selling environment.Proven ability to manage a large geographic area.Advanced presentation and communication skills.Proficient computer skills necessary (Microsoft Office, Power BI, Sales Force).Ability to travel extensively (~3 out of 4 weeks) and work weekends as needed.Please note: This job description does not list all duties of the job.
