The project:

This is an opportunity to work with Mace North America on a multi-billion-dollar transportation development in Austin, Texas. This expansive program aims to revolutionize transit throughout the Austin area with the development of new light rail systems and enhanced services across the city. The rail initiative is more than just a transit plan; it's a community effort designed to create thousands of local jobs and provide greater access to healthcare, education, employment, and essential services, fostering equity and driving economic growth. With a shared passion for environmental conservation, the project is dedicated to sustainable practices, aiming to be carbon neutral by 2040, with zero-emission transit buses by 2035, positioning Austin as a leader in environmental stewardship. Embracing the spirit of innovation, the rail initiative will integrate cutting-edge technology to make transportation smarter, more efficient, and user-friendly, enhancing the quality of life by making transit more enjoyable and accessible.

You will provide expert technical advice and leadership support to Delivery Teams, creating a culture of ownership, promoting roles and responsibilities.You'll be responsible for:

MobilizationPre-Mobilization Plans: Developing and executing comprehensive OD pre-mobilization and mobilization plans for projects/programs, ensuring readiness.Stakeholder Collaboration and Network BuildingCollaborative Networks: Cultivating and establishing a robust network of partnerships with key senior internal and external stakeholders, fostering strong collaborative relationships.

Stakeholder Insights: Managing, influencing, and negotiating with senior project leaders to gain insights into effective practices and challenges related to organizational effectiveness, team dynamics, and team maturity.Performance Improvement and Organizational EffectivenessSystematic Improvement Cycle: Directing the implementation of a systematic performance improvement cycle, continuously enhancing the quality of the function/portfolio.

Performance Measurement: Identifying and measuring team performance maturity and organizational effectiveness maturity, sharing progress and concerns with project leadership, and creating action plans to maintain and increase maturity/effectiveness.Program Development and LeadershipAction Plans: Developing and adapting programs of work to support maturity, effectiveness, and collaborative behavior within client organizations and/or program teams, providing expert advice and counsel.

Performance Management: Delivering performance management, technical development, direction, and coaching to leaders and their teams, enhancing overall team capabilities.External Provider ManagementProgram Ownership: Owning and supervising the program of work with external providers, ensuring targeted interventions are impactful and aligned with organizational goals.Strategic Alignment and CommunicationStrategic Business Partner: Partnering strategically with project leads and internal communication resources to ensure OD work aligns with project disciplines and is consistently communicated.

Strategy Execution: Influencing strategic development and execute strategies for organizational development practices, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.Environmental ResponsibilityNet Zero Carbon Transition: Collaborating towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, proactively identifying and managing associated carbon emissions and reductions during project delivery.Thought Leadership and InnovationExpertise and Innovation: Providing thought leadership in organizational development, driving innovation and best practices within the program and across the organization.You'll need to have:Extensive experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programs in the rail sector.

Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.

Strong commercial and financial acumen.

Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.

Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.

Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.You'll also have:Experience working in the rail infrastructure sector.

Experience in a director level position.

Industry qualification or chartership e.g. PgMP, PMI, CMI, DBIA.
