The Senior Director, Corporate Strategy and Internal Consulting provides leadership and delivery of the company's long-range strategy. The Senior Director is accountable for actively managing Sarepta's portfolio prioritization process and approval and champions/leads various key corporate initiatives as approved by the executive committee. This role reports into the head of Corporate Strategy, Strategy organization, which is tasked with ensuring execution of the overall corporate strategy and portfolio including the company's long-range strategic plan.

This role is highly cross-functional in nature and requires collaboration across the entire enterprise, with external partners, and directly with senior leaders. The Senior Director of Corporate Strategy and Internal Consulting is charged with staying abreast of the overall biotech / genetic therapy landscape. The role actively identifies strategic gaps, evaluates ongoing strategic execution, and monitors market dynamics and competitive intelligence.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

Strategic Leadership and PlanningDeliver Sarepta's Long Range Strategy and Master Plan by:Leading a highly cross-functional senior and executive level team developing Sarepta's long-range strategic plan. The plan will evaluate overall corporate direction and vision, portfolio strategy and prioritization, and select functional strategies. The plan will be formally tied together with a long-range financial forecast incorporating anticipated expense and fundraising requirements.Lead integrated valuation modeling for the current portfolio to aid in annual prioritization as well as key event-driven program updates.Supporting R&D strategy to expand current indications and drive high-level lifecycle management strategy, and enter into new disease areas.Collaborate with CI function to evaluate and incorporate key competitive landscape developments into dynamic portfolio strategy perspective.Synthesize individual functional perspectives into a comprehensive and organized structure gaining alignment across functions where discrepancies arise.Delivery of Strategic plan to ECOM and the Board of Directors.Communicating the agreed plan clearly across Sarepta's Extended Leadership Team.Lead monthly Portfolio Committee meetings to develop cross-functional perspective on major portfolio transitions, platform developments, and licensing opportunities.Align budgets and financial planning to corporate strategy and priorities.Modify strategic recommendations based on current status of programs and risk factors.Proactively identify gaps and areas of opportunity and work cross-functionally to fill gaps.Create and utilize modeling methodologies that will interrogate the portfolio and R&D resources to support internal platforms/programs and external investment opportunities.Partner with finance to incorporate long-range financial plan, including investment requirements.Develop and maintain outside competitive landscape tracking major milestones, newsfeeds and insights from competitors.Provide risk assessment on timing of data and readouts to support investment decision making.Drive and maintain a portfolio prioritization and Probability of Success methodology; direct the cross-functional team accountable for generation of the prioritization and overall view on the Sarepta Portfolio ultimately obtaining approval by the Executive Committee.Internal ConsultingLead key corporate initiatives as deemed critical by the Executive Committee; these projects vary heavily by type, duration and scope and will be sponsored by an Executive Committee member.Reduce external costs/spend by utilizing internal talent to drive the successful completion of internal consulting projects while building/maintaining knowledge within Sarepta.Performs other related duties as assigned.Desired Education and Skills:

MBA or PhD in technical discipline with at least 15 years of experience with demonstrated success in leading large-scale programs/projects with proven results and effective leadership and management skills.Direct and progressive experience within a top-tier consulting firm highly preferred.Extensive knowledge and experience in R&D - ability to define, develop and implement portfolio strategies based on trends, opportunities, needs and market direction within the pharmaceutical industry and/or healthcare environment.Operational experience in investment optimization models, asset valuation and portfolio assessment techniques.Strong negotiation skills and financial, budget and resource planning experience.Demonstrated success in leading through influence, ability to integrate information and apply creative thinking to identify, build, and implement solutions to cross-functional team issues.Excellent balanced approach to process versus results-driven leadership and management skills.Excellent communication and influencing skills up, down and across the organization.Strong business, analytical and planning skills.Proven ability to successfully manage projects and timelines, organize/track complex information, prioritize accordingly, and the ability to quickly adjust to shifting priorities and demanding timelines when necessary.This position is hybrid, you will be expected to work on-site at one of Sarepta's facilities in the United States and/or attend Company-sponsored in-person events from time to time.The targeted salary range for this position is $216,000 - $270,000 per year. Sarepta is making a good faith effort to be transparent and accurate around our hiring ranges.
