The Vice President of Business Development is crucial in driving the company’s growth and expansion. This role focuses on broadening the company’s customer base and discovering new business opportunities on the West Coast. The VP will oversee the sales, marketing, and product teams, crafting strategies to enhance market share and boost revenue. Building and nurturing relationships with key clients and industry partners is also a key responsibility.The ideal candidate will possess extensive industry knowledge and a robust network of industry contacts. This role demands a seasoned professional with a profound understanding of the industry, exceptional strategic thinking abilities, and strong leadership skills.Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Planning:

Develop and implement a robust business development strategy that aligns with the company’s goals to drive revenue and market share growth.Market Analysis:

Examine industry trends and market dynamics to pinpoint emerging opportunities and potential threats. Stay updated on competitor activities and market changes.Sales Growth:

Guide sales teams in meeting revenue goals by identifying and pursuing new business prospects. Promote a culture of excellence in sales and customer satisfaction.Product and Service Expansion:

Assess and recommend new products or services that align with market needs and the company's strengths.Contract Negotiation:

Negotiate contracts, agreements, and partnerships to secure advantageous terms and conditions for the company.Team Leadership:

Build and lead a high-performing business development team, offering coaching, mentorship, and direction.Budget Management:

Create and oversee the business development budget to ensure optimal resource allocation and achievement of strategic goals.Reporting and Analysis:

Utilize and update all available tools for accurate and timely reporting. Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or Business fields. MBA or advanced degree is preferred.Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in business development, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.Extensive knowledge of the electronic interconnect industry and a well-established network of industry contacts.Strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to identify and prioritize growth opportunities.Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships at all organizational levels.At least 5 years of leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve their goals.Results-driven, with a history of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.Adaptability to dynamic business environments and proficiency in making data-driven decisions.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Experience with Salesforce is a plus.Willingness and ability to travel as needed to develop and sustain business relationships.Ability to stay current with industry innovations, as well as competitors’ products and services.Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.Skilled in managing webinars, Teams, and other virtual meeting platforms.Understanding of ISO 9001 Quality, RoHS Compliance, ITAR, and relevant NAICS Codes and Standards for effective performance.
