Lead Pastor – Legacy Christian ChurchThis position is based in Senoia, GA.Mission/Vision Statement:Glorifying God through Worship and Discipleship.Position Overview:Legacy is an Elder-led church. The lead pastor will serve under the authority of, and alongside, the Elders in leading the congregation in carrying out the vision of Legacy.The lead pastor will be responsible for:Ministry of the Word:
The lead pastor will be the primary preacher for the church and will teach God’s Word faithfully, according to sound doctrine and Biblical principles.Prayer:
The lead pastor will set the pace in Kingdom-focused prayer by spending time praying daily for the ministry of the church, that people in the community will be saved, that the members will grow in spiritual maturity, and that God’s will be done in all that the ministry does.Leadership:
The lead pastor will have a proven track record of leading the church in all areas of ministry and as a manager of the church staff.Discipleship:
The lead pastor will build up believers by helping the members grow in spiritual maturity and an authentic relationship with Jesus.Evangelism:
The lead pastor will encourage, train, and mobilize the congregation to evangelize those outside the church.Shepherding:
The lead pastor will care for and protect the flock, being eager to serve and know the members.Teaching:
The lead pastor, along with the Elders and other ministry staff, will nurture and administer the overall teaching ministry of the church.Pastoral Care:
The lead pastor will be responsible for overseeing the ministry of pastoral care to individuals, couples, families, and groups. The lead pastor will provide or oversee pastoral care to those in personal crisis through counseling, prayer, and visitation.Required (Basic) Qualifications:Reflects all the characteristics and qualities of an Elder as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.Be in full agreement with and committed to Legacy’s stated Mission, Core Values, and Statement of Faith (found in link below) and exhibit a lifestyle that is consistent with these values and beliefs.Have an active, regular, and meaningful prayer life.Have a grounded and passionate belief in and extensive theological knowledge and understanding of the eternal, inerrant, and unalterable Word of God as revealed in the Old and New Testament.At a minimum, the lead pastor must hold a bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministry, Biblical Studies, or Theology, or equivalent from an accredited institution. Ideally, the lead pastor will hold a Master of Divinity or Master of Theology or equivalent.Minimum 5 years of experience preaching the gospel using sound, defendable exposition.Minimum 5 years of experience as a manager of people.Position Criteria:Developed leadership, team building, conflict resolution, and collaboration skills.History of good decision-making that demonstrates sound judgment in all areas of ministry.Achieves excellence in all areas of ministry.Preaching 45 weeks out of a calendar year (at a minimum) including all major holidays (Christmas, Easter, etc.).Work in cooperation with the Elder Board in an effort to fulfill the vision of Legacy.Compensation:
