Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dynamic and visionary Lead Pastor to shepherd our Restoration Movement Church. The ideal candidate will have a heart for pastoral care, strong leadership skills, and a passion for teaching and guiding our congregation of 300 members. The man that God will lead here will hold the core values of our church: be Biblically surrendered, authentically connected, others focused, and compassionately bold. The candidate should share in our mission to Love God, Love People, Serve Both, and our vision to Bring Hope to Your Valley. This role requires a committed leader who can inspire spiritual growth, foster community engagement, and uphold the teachings of Christ.
Key Responsibilities
Preaching and Teaching:
Deliver engaging and biblically sound sermons.
Provide and oversee relevant teaching and instruction for the church that fosters spiritual growth and discipleship.
Pastoral Care:
Offer compassionate support and counseling to individuals and families within the congregation.
Conduct weddings, funerals, and other special ceremonies as needed.
Visit members in hospitals, homes, and other care facilities.
Leadership and Vision:
Provide spiritual and strategic leadership to guide the church towards its mission and vision.
Collaborate with the Elders and ministry leaders to develop and implement church programs and initiatives.
Encourage and empower church staff and volunteers in their roles.
Community Engagement:
Foster strong relationships with the local community through outreach programs and service projects.
Represent the church in community events and build partnerships with other local organizations.
Administration and Management:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the church, and partner with the Elders for budgeting and resource management.
Ensure effective communication within the church through various channels, including newsletters, social media, and announcements.
Manage and support church staff, including regular performance evaluations and professional development.
Spiritual Development:
Encourage and model a life of prayer, worship, and personal growth.
Develop and support programs for spiritual formation, small groups, and ministry training.
Promote a culture of discipleship and outreach within the congregation.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Ministry, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree (M.Div. or equivalent) is preferred.
Proven experience in pastoral ministry, with a preference of 5 years in a lead pastoral role.
Strong understanding and commitment to the Restoration Movement principles and values.
Excellent preaching, teaching, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a congregation.
Experience in church administration and organizational leadership.
A heart for pastoral care and a commitment to serving others with compassion.
Compensation
Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
