Eversource Energy - Director, Transmission System Planning, Strategic Projects
Location: Manchester, New HampshireThe Director of Transmission System Planning – Strategic Projects is responsible for directing strategic and competitive transmission system needs identification, solution development and optimization, and the overall technical management of competitive transmission business opportunities. This position will improve the Company’s competitive position and create shareholder value.Essential Functions:Proactively identify and propose potential competitive transmission opportunities through system planning assessments.Develop comprehensive proposals to competitive transmission solicitations.Direct electric system testing and modeling, electric pricing analysis, and support detailed engineering design efforts.Work extensively with the company’s strategic partners and collaborate with external parties including vendors, regulatory agencies, and industry groups.Develop and implement business unit objectives that align with the strategic and tactical goals of the broader Company.Execute the technical business development strategy for Eversource in relation to strategic and competitive Transmission System Planning projects.Lead cross-functional teams with a focus on ownership, accountability, and high productivity.Responsibilities include:Demonstrable success in proposing solutions for competitive transmission solicitations.Drive competitive bidding opportunities, including bid strategy and package development.Prioritize system needs and develop detailed project plans in coordination with Engineering design teams.Pursue innovative funding opportunities from federal and state/local agencies.Coordinate activities with external parties to implement plans.Participate in local, regional, and federal committees and regulatory bodies.Ensure the financial and commercial viability of the business development plan.Provide investment and strategic recommendations to Senior Management.Communicate the business development strategy throughout Eversource and to external parties.Maintain a high communications environment to facilitate cross-company buy-in on business development initiatives.Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:Technical Knowledge/Skills:Mastery of Transmission System Planning.Understanding of components necessary to win solicitations and receive project funding.Extensive knowledge of the transmission utility industry and energy markets.Exceptional analytical and leadership skills.Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a relevant discipline.Advanced degree such as an MBA is strongly preferred.Experience:Minimum of twelve years of business and technical development experience.A minimum of 12 years in an analytical capacity in the transmission system planning or electric power industry.Strong track record in leading cross-functional teams.Licenses & Certifications:None required.Working Conditions:Must be available to work emergency restoration assignments as required.Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.Worker Type:
