If this sounds like you, keep reading.The role of the Sales Development Representative:The Sales Development Representative at Upwards is a vital part of our sales team. They are the first point of contact when we reach out to prospective clients. The goal of this role is to find potential customers that are interested in helping solve the childcare crisis in the United States by identifying opportunities for them to add childcare benefits to their employees' total rewards programs. You do this by getting to know their challenges and ensuring it is a match for both Upwards and the potential customer. The objective of this role is to build an enterprise sales pipeline by booking qualified discovery meetings with our Account Executives.In this role, you will (job role and responsibilities):Customer-Centricity:
Ensure that our customers always have great service. You will be the first point of contact with a potential customer, focused on understanding their needs and wants to discern if Upwards is a potential fit.Outbound:
Using various methods such as cold calling, social media outreach, and cold emailing, you will reach out to potential customers to see if they are interested in Upwards.Market-Focused:
Assist with our Go-To-Market Strategy by focusing on finding customers in specific markets and regions. Learn about our ideal customers and their needs to ensure a match when contacting them.HubSpot:
Work out of HubSpot and other sales tools to craft personalized emails, add notes to files, and share your results and information with other members of the sales team, ensuring all information is stored and accurate.Relationships-Building:
Continue to nurture relationships with potential customers to see when they are ready to work with Upwards.Collaboration:
Work closely with the sales team to create strategies, execute those strategies, and review what worked and where improvements can be made. Once you have found a prospective client, you will book meetings with the appropriate Account Executive.What we are looking for in a candidate:Previous experience in a similar role as a Sales Development Representative or Business Development Representative.Educational background in Business, Sales, and Marketing.Strong willingness to go the extra mile and exceed expectations, with a focus on assertiveness.Ability to overcome objections and blockers; you don’t take no for an answer.Ability to think quickly and make sound decisions.Preferably resides in San Francisco but not required.Must be willing to be flexible with various working hours (Pacific, Mountain, Central, and East Coast hours).Must be willing to travel (
