This role requires exceptional legal writing and communication skills and a solid ability to work collaboratively within a team.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDraft and negotiate agreements related to ad agencies, influencers, celebrity endorsements, sponsorships, online media buying, and other marketing and promotional activities.Review advertising copy to ensure compliance with regulations and to address issues related to false advertising, claim substantiation, intellectual property, and right of publicity.Provide counsel on compliance matters for contests and sweepstakes, price advertising, recurring subscription programs, and loyalty/rewards programs.Offer advice and representation concerning false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division disputes.Collaborate effectively with internal teams and clients to provide strategic legal advice and solutions.Stay current with developments in advertising law and marketing regulations to ensure clients receive up-to-date guidance.RequirementsA minimum of 7 years of relevant legal experience in advertising, marketing, and promotions law.Substantive experience in drafting and negotiating various marketing-related agreements.Experience with compliance issues related to contests, sweepstakes, price advertising, and subscription programs.Proven track record in handling disputes about false advertising and unfair competition.Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a team environment.Excellent academic credentials with outstanding legal writing and communication skills.EducationJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.CertificationsAdmission to the Bar in Washington or the ability to obtain admission upon hiring.SkillsIn-depth knowledge of advertising, marketing, and promotions law.Strong negotiation and drafting skills.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Proven ability to manage complex legal matters and provide strategic advice.
