We invite you to join us in this amazing work to develop your skills, to realize your leadership potential, and discover a career that is so much more than a job.About the JobThe Healthy Heart Ambassador facilitates delivery of YMCA’s Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring (BPSM) program, provides support and guidance to program participants, actively engages and recruits participants, and maintains fidelity to the curriculum. Additionally, lifestyle coaches will support the Community Health programs as needed.Some of the exciting tasks you will do as a Healthy Heart Ambassador include but are not limited to:Creates a safe, judgment-free, and encouraging environment that is friendly and non-competitive for participants.Effectively develops and carries out appropriate nutrition and cooking classes for members and community members of YMCA Anthony Bowen.Coordinates participation with membership and wellness departments at respective YMCA branches.Attends Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring training.Prepares for each session (e.g. review materials and content).Creates a warm and friendly atmosphere for participants to learn.Current Shifts Available:Monday – Friday - FlexibleQualifications and Skills:High-school diploma or GED.Maintains a flexible schedule to include weeknights and weekends.Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through on issues in a timely manner.Ability to interact comfortably with employees at various levels of the organization.Use initiative, independent judgment, and problem-solving within established procedural guidelines.We offer the following benefits:Compensation for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
