We are looking for a Stormwater Project Engineer with experience successfully delivering a broad range of stormwater projects to support design of Transportation Projects in our Florida Division. Responsibilities will include the design and analysis of open and closed storm drainage systems for transportation projects including hydrology and hydraulic analysis related to culvert sizing, open channel design, bridge hydraulics, scour analysis, storm sewer infrastructure design, and floodplain analysis. In this role you will contribute to a collaborative team environment. The desired candidate will supplement the design efforts of the civil/transportation group and structural design group.Location
This position will have a hybrid work schedule and, when in the office, will work from our Jacksonville, Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale or Miami office.The Impact You Will Have
Perform hydraulic and hydrology (H&H) analyses and design for transportation projectsPrepare drainage reports in conformance with client and industry standardsAssist with plan production related to drainage design, stormwater management and detention facilities, water quality/MS4, quantities and specificationsContribute to project goals and milestones and monitor project progressAssist in preparation of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, studies, reports, construction drawings/plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of stormwater design and planning projectsEnsure the development of high-quality engineering documentsAdhere to all internal procedures for quality control, documentation, and project trackingAssist with project pursuitsWhat You Will Need
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline required4-9 years of transportation drainage experiencePE License preferredA history of progressive responsibility in transportation/roadway drainage designExcellent communication skills, verbal and writtenA track record for adhering to design budgets and schedulesAbility to work effectively in a team environmentAbility to prioritize, work on, and advance multiple projects simultaneouslyThorough understanding of state, regional, and special district design standards (preferred)Experience developing stormwater management plans and water quality design/MS4 (preferred)Experience with plan production related to transportation projects (preferred)Experience developing deliverables per FDOT standards and requirements (preferred)Explore the Benefits of Working at Benesch!
