ABOUT THIS ROLELVT is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our Edge engineering team. Here you will help lead our development efforts for AI/ML enabled security solutions. You will help innovate creative ways to optimize compute power and analytic performance for thermal, optical, and other detections. This role requires high ownership and frequent collaboration with other core disciplines. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience and be a self-starter.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Leadership:
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a division of software engineers. Help set the technical direction, define best practices, and drive the adoption of modern software engineering methodologies and technologies.
Architecture and Design:
Collaborate with architects and other senior engineers to design scalable and robust software solutions. Review and provide guidance on system architecture, design patterns, and technology choices. Drive technical excellence and ensure adherence to coding standards.
Technical Expertise:
Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software engineering and AI/ML. Stay up to date with advancements in the field and proactively identify opportunities to leverage new technologies for improved product development.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product management, quality assurance, and operations to ensure seamless integration and successful delivery of products. Foster effective communication channels and promote a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.Continuous Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software development processes, productivity, and efficiency. Identify bottlenecks, streamline workflows, and implement tools and methodologies to optimize software development lifecycle.
QUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering or a related field.10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on IoT devices and AI/ML.Proven experience in delivering AI products in a technical leadership role.Strong expertise with on-device AI and model optimization.Experience in designing hybrid architectures to optimize edge processing and cloud computation.Strong expertise in GoLang or C++.Strong expertise in Embedded Linux, (Yocto preferred).Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills, with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.WHY JOIN US
