The Iridium Internship Program is an opportunity for students to be a part of the Iridium teams shaping the future of satellite communications. As an Intern, you'll begin making an impact on real projects from day one! Come prepared to grow, develop, and learn alongside a team and the leaders of our company. The Iridium Internship program is a 12-week program that runs from May 27, 2025 to August 15, 2025. During the program, interns will have the opportunity to provide valuable support to an Iridium department on a project or important work assignment. Interns will also be provided an opportunity to engage with senior leadership and fellow interns via regular engagement activities. Interns will participate in an end of internship presentation, where we ask them to reflect on their summer internships and present a summary of what they have learned and accomplished.What We're Looking For:Work with a team of hardware and software engineersLearn how we develop and support transceiversTake a goal or goals, collaborate on approaches to address itImplement a solution, to attain or move toward the goalPresent the solution, findings, and next steps to the teamWhat You'll Do:Circuit evaluation and/or circuit design that may include schematic capture, building and validatingPresent designs for review and discussionParticipate in hardware, software, and/or system design reviews for ongoing projectsPerform acceptance reviews of work conducted by subcontractorsReview test reports to validate issue closureSkills You'll Obtain:Real-world experience in chosen field of interest and related topics through multiple hands-on projectsCritical thinking and analytical skillsKnowledge of development tools (e.g. JIRA, GitLab, Ansible) and hardware devices (e.g. power measurement, signal generators, vector analyzer)How to collaborate with SMEsFamiliarity with satellite networks, with a focus on transceiversInstall and operate a developer kit and transceiver for voice and data operationWhat You'll Need to Succeed:Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and professional demeanorAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detail and accuracyDemonstrated hardware, software, or systems integration and troubleshooting experienceExperience in C and/or Python is highly desired for software engineering tasksExperience with common laboratory test equipment is desired for hardware engineering tasksExperience & Education Requirements / EEO
