Collaborating closely with internal teams and suppliers abroad, you’ll develop and manufacture products that meet our brand's standards and customer needs, ensuring that our offerings remain at the forefront of the industry. Your commitment to innovation, and willingness to push boundaries will be instrumental in driving our success as industry frontrunners.What You’ll Do:Research, develop, and evaluate textile materials, including fibers, fabrics, and finishes to enhance product performance and achieve target attributesCollaborate with product testing and compliance teams to ensure adherence to industry regulations, standards, and certificationsDrive development of yarns, fabrics, and trims with overseas suppliers that meet the intended product brief and customer requirementsCreate and maintain detailed documentation for sampling specifications, sample feedback, performance testing results, pre-production trials, and production specificationsIdentify and proactively resolve issues that arise during development while ensuring that projects are delivered on-timeCultivate strong supplier relationships to efficiently oversee sampling schedules, handle development feedback, and negotiate advantageous costs and termsConduct product research, user testing, and performance testing to validate product attributes, quality, and performanceWhat You’ll Need to Have:Required:Bachelor’s degree in Textile Science, Materials Engineering, or equivalent program3+ years of experience in textile engineering, testing, fiber development, product development, or another relevant functionUnderstanding of textile and yarn manufacturing processes and equipment (e.g., extruding, weaving, tufting, knitting, bonding, washing, finishing, etc.)Be naturally curious about textile science, staying current with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in textile engineering, materials science, and manufacturing technology to advance Ruggable’s innovation in the categoryExperienced with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (Google Sheets and Slides)Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to meet with vendorsPreferred:Advanced degree in Textile Science, Materials Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent programExperience with CPG/Retail, especially with home products, textiles, or carpetingExperience with digital textile printingCompensation:$80,000 - $95,000 per year base salaryAn annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of roleEmployer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K planAt Ruggable, we offer competitive compensation and benefits packages.
